one drop really does matter I see that with the career I chose. I am a hairstylist and I work in the entertainment industry and I bump into a few instances where people assume that because I am known for my cornrows and braids that I am not able to do anything elese with Hair...I am a trained professional with a valid cosmetology license and last time I checked Braids were Not in the curriculum! I know how to cut, color add extensions, or weave hair I can give you a perm and relax your hair I am qualified and most of my hairstyles set trends but That is not a factor when the magazine editor or photographer sees my black face. They then have to look at my tear sheets to determine whether I can get the job done. One Drop.

Ooops, NIKKI I AM SORRY! Cause I come on your board and ask hair questions concerning braids only (cause thats all I wear). I love the styles you do. The braids with the ponytails and twists are so classy to me. But I did not know what you go through on the job with the assumptions.
I have many stories like that, and it is frustrating. I know how you feel.
